Could you tell we were pleased to be back after a 2-year absence?
Well, we were!
Our weather gods almost got it right with a 20kph southerly breeze and a few clouds but importantly dry day this Holy Easter Saturday.
The events (5k & 10k) went off without any major drama or incident – but the day didn’t start that way! With volunteers arriving early to start preparations they soon found water in Kilmovee was off due to a leak – Phones were hopping and calls were made and thankfully the group water scheme got the problem resolved in time! Thanks, guys & gals!
The course record is still intact with Dan Charlton from Kiltimagh finishing in 33:36. He was just over a minute ahead of Enda Marren in second place in 34:45, with Tom Feeley Trim AC third in 34:54.
Sinéad Whitelaw Mullingar Harriers AC 38:25 won the women’s race, with Aoibhín Flatley Swinford AC second in 39:17, and Sarah Byrne third 40:48
With Caitlin Hughes Swinford AC was first across the line in 19:14 in the 5K
Our media partner wacnie.com has photos from the day, with a series of albums being published over the next few days.
Once again we’d like to thank our volunteers, community, sponsors, timing partner and anyone has played a part in the return of the Kilmovee 10k this year, or over the years
We have had some super feedback & tagged posts over on our Social Media channels (Twitter, Instagram) here are a few –
We’ll have more photos, feedback, reactions, and a whole load more soon, along with a little post-event survey which will help us improve next year (if that’s even possible).
