As we approach this year’s Kilmovee 10k/5K we thought we’d remind you of a few things whether you are participating or just passing through the area on Saturday 30th March 2024.
Firstly, we’re looking forward to welcoming you to Kilmovee for what will be our 13th race. We want to thank all our sponsors and welcome back our main sponsor Dean Roofing in Kilkelly our medical crews, hospitality crews, course marshals, and of course you for joining us and supporting the Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation & Kilmovee Shamrocks GAA Club.

Race Day – Saturday 30th March 2024
Start time – 1pm Sharp for both races*
Getting here: Signs will guide you in, but the road number you need is the R325

You can also just enter Kilmovee, Mayo into most Sat Navs they’ll bring you to the crossroads.
When arriving in the village please slow down & prepare to stop there will be lots of people on the roads.
Race numbers – you will need to collect your numbers from the check-in area in the Shamrocks Clubhouse as soon as you arrive in the area (or from 10:30am). Your numbers need to be attached to the front of your t-shirt.
Shuttle Bus – There is a bus available that will operate between the community centre & the GAA pitch
Please proceed to the start lines when instructed to do so as swiftly and safely as possible to ensure the race starts on time – please remember there will be cars using the R325 and local roads
Road Closures: Commence at 12:45 pm, therefore, you must arrive at the event before this time. Before this time please exercise caution as normal rules of the road will apply. Ample parking is available near the GAA ground or beside Kilmovee Community Centre a regular free shuttle bus will be available to transport you to the clubhouse from 11:15 am.
Note: The start line is approx. 1k away from the Community Centre!
There are ample water stations around the course and we ask that you drop used bottles near distance markers or to the edge of the road – do not throw them into the fields or ditches.
If you have any medical conditions please make us aware when you collect your race number.
When you cross the line at the finish we would ask that you collect your water and move away from the finish line area even if you are waiting for a friend, family, or team member it has and can get crowded – and could affect someone’s result.
Hospitality will be served in the Kilmovee Community Centre shortly after the first person crosses the line, please make your way there for the presentations and of course the legendary hospitality…
Please respect the neighbours in the estate beside the community centre and the residents along the course.
Remember to avoid using over-the-ear, or in-ear devices.
Listen to any directions of the race director, announcements and members of the medical teams, garda and course marshals
You may use the facilities in the clubhouse, and community centre. There are also extra portable toilets available.
Please use the rubbish bins and keep our village tidy.
And most importantly – Be safe – Have fun – and whether you are running, jogging or walking either the 5k or 10k route enjoy yourself!
*5k race will start in the opposite direction just moments after the main 10k
