This event just keeps growing expediently and is a just reward for the efforts of the organising committee. A shuttle bus service to the start saw the movement of the large crowd carried out safely and efficiently. After speaking to one runner from Dublin she described it as “the best 10K in the country. Such community spirit is rarely seen in the city and its great credit to the parish of Kilmovee for putting such an event together “. A UK runner said she was “blown away by the friendliness of the whole community” and is definitely returning next year.

Music at the finish line got young and old get into the party atmosphere and Kilmovee community centre was a hive of activity as runners and walkers tucked in to the wonderful spread of sandwiches and home cooking. One runner said he would run the 10k again just to get more of the home cooking. A huge congrats to all the ladies who put in such an effort in the hospitality end and sent everyone home fed and refreshed.
